Nigeria and Botswana have signed agreements to deepen relations and cultural cooperation between them, Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama said on Thursday.
Onyeama told reporters that the agreements were signed in Abuja on Wednesday during the 4th session of the Nigeria-Botswanan Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation.
The signing marked a strategic cooperation and partnership to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities, thus making a contribution in the fight against poverty and underdevelopment in the two countries, the Nigerian FM said.
According to him, Nigeria attaches great importance to relations with Botswana and the outcome of the meeting confirmed the friendly and cooperative ties between them.
The two countries need to work together to realize the fullest potentials of their bilateral relations as important partners, he said, adding that both countries needed to transform their cooperation toward the achievement of sustainable inclusive economic growth.
