China has invested over $30bn in Nigeria, says ambassador

The Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Lin Songtian, says China has over $30billion worth of investment over time.

Speaking to Channels Television in South Africa, the Chinese envoy noted that Nigeria is a major beneficiary of the China-African cooperation.

“Nigeria has become the most beneficial country in the continent to benefit from China and China-African cooperation.

“In the past few years, more than 30 billion US Dollars from China has gone to Nigeria in the name of concessionaire loan of convention loan to build 2 railways in the country, already put into operation,” he said.

He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for its efforts in building quality infrastructure for the benefit of the citizens.

The Chinese said President Buhari has partnered China in constructing coastal railway which he described as the best on the continent.

“That coastal railway cost China more than $10bn of more than 170 kilometres along the coastal line,” he said. SOURCE;chinaafricaproject.com
