The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday named China's StarTimes as the new television rights holder of the country's premier league as well as the FA cup.
The Chinese firm, which is an experienced TV operator in football broadcasting, won the competitive bidding process and is expected to sign a 5.25 million U.S. dollars five-year agreement with the GFA to be the exclusive TV rights owner of the elite league and the FA cup.
"The Ghana Football Association welcomes StarTimes as its partner and is looking forward to having a fruitful and mutually beneficial relationship," the GFA said in a release.
Meanwhile, the GFA said it has decided to make the highlights of the premier league and FA cup available to other TV stations. XINHUA
