The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Nigeria has made public its strides in injecting human face to her operations in Nigeria.
The document made available to ACE Magazine from the office of the General Manager, Corporate Culture, Mr. Liu Yingcai underscored the need to bring to the knowledge of Nigerians how the CCECC has been modestly contributing to the total development of the country.
In a chat with us, Liu said that it is important to showcase the document as a sign to Nigerians that while the CCECC is here for business, it is also in Nigeria for humanity, friendship, shared benefits, and as a factor in the deepening of the relationship between China and Nigeria that has thrived in over 50 years of diplomatic relations.
The document heavily illustrated with photos of the construction and social responsibility landmarks is accompanied by a message from the Managing Director, Mr. Zhang Zhichen, Managing Director, and Mr. Jiang Yigao, the Chairman.
The message thanked Nigerians for remaining friendly partners of the company since 1981 it started operations in the country.
“Thank you for reading the second CSR report of CCECC Nigeria Ltd. As the old saying goes that “Bosom friends make distance disappear”, the year 2021 marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria as well as the 40th anniversary of the founding of CCECC Nigeria. Forty years of struggles have witnessed our long-standing friendship with Nigeria, as well as our consistent efforts in creating quality infrastructure projects and providing related services.
As relations between China and Nigeria keep deepening, our practical cooperation with Nigerian stakeholders is beginning to bear fruit. At the moment, we have launched businesses in 29 states across Nigeria, covering general contracting, project contracting, project management, and consulting services for railways, highways, bridges, municipal projects, housing projects, water projects, and so on.
Committed to “providing Nigeria with quality infrastructure and services”, we have established close partnerships with stakeholders to contribute to a China-Nigeria community with a shared future. Upholding honest operations and guided by the Belt and Road Initiative, we strictly abide by local laws and regulations and serve local governments and people’s livelihood with superior projects.
To serve local development, we boost local employment by cultivating professionals as the starting point, building talent training platforms to accelerate technology transfer, promoting cultural integration of international teams, and driving the common development of local small and medium-sized suppliers.
In pursuit of green development, we make constant efforts to enhance local ecological balance during the construction of green projects and minimize the impacts of our construction projects on the environment.
Devoted to improving local livelihood, we actively fulfill social responsibility and organize and participate in community activities. All our efforts will contribute to the significant changes in Nigeria’s economic and social development and the improvement of the quality of life.
After the outbreak of COVID-19, we assisted Nigeria in building mobile cabin hospitals for COVID-19 patients on the premise of our effective COVID-19 response, once again proving the camaraderie between China and Nigeria in weal and woe. Only the belief in great truths and win-win cooperation can lead to long-term development.
In the future, CCECC Nigeria will continue to pursue sustainable development, make greater efforts to fulfill corporate social responsibility, deepen cooperation with all stakeholders, and promote high-quality Belt and Road development. We will pool all resources to contribute to Nigeria’s stable development in the long run and create a better future with the joint efforts of both sides.”PDF Embedder requires a url attribute
