Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, known in Lagos by the false name of Bobrisky and a notorious cross dresser has bagged a six-month sentence for naira mutilation. His sentence came with no option of paying a fine for the infraction.
With the sentence handed Okuneye by the Federal High Court, Lagos, he will remain in prison for six months.
The offence under the Economic and Financial Crimes Act (EFCC) is punishable by a fine, prison sentence or both. The judgment indicated that Okuneye will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.
