Obi to Okpebholo: I will visit Edo again, threats don’t scare me

‎The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi has dismissed the directive by Governor Monday Okpebholo asking him to seek security clearance from him before visiting Edo State.

‎Obi declared that he will return to Edo whenever need be, despite threats by the state governor, Monday Okpebholo.

‎Obi who reacted in an interview by newsmen at the Christ The King College (CKC), Onitsha, Anambra State on Thursday, advised Governor Okpebholo to rather compliment his efforts in supporting public institutions instead of threatening him.

‎Responding to newsmen concerning the directive, Obi dismissed the warning, saying he is used to receiving threats.

‎”Threats don’t make any meaning to me. I receive threats everyday. Do you know how many times I have been threatened all over Nigeria? I receive threats everyday actually, the ones you know about was because it was vocal, but I will not be afraid”

‎“If I have the opportunity to go to Benin and make donations again, trust me, I will. I have always said that we should de-emphasize politics and think more of how to invest in the people. I went to Benin to invest in people because if they have good doctors, good nurses, they will have a better life”

‎Obi emphasized that what the governor should have done is to complement what him(Obi) was doing in Edo instead of threatening him, stating that the governor of Edo should be sincerely grateful to him for his kind gesture.
