IKENNA EMEWU
You may feel free to commence your trip to see the wondrous Edda mountains, valleys, springs, and villages buried in the bowel of the pristine spots of the world.
As the bright sunshine bathes the atmosphere in which the beauty of these amazing landscapes is garlanded, the aura shines incredibly gorgeous.
The skies were bluer that Friday afternoon.
It was indeed Good Friday, and all the articles of aural beauty were smiling, including the gentle breeze wheezing through the mountain forests.
We felt like reaching out to grab the sky above, standing on the heights.
It was a short journey to see what impetus Iyere Bridge, aka Goodluck Jonathan Bridge had added to Edda’s ecotourism potential after completion and commencement of usage.
Indeed, this structure, an extra to the natural features, resounds in splendid awe. No dispute, Governor David Umahi fanned into flames the smouldering appurtenances of what treasure the Edda landscape around the Ufuku peaks, Iyere mountain, Iyere river, Ogwuma ranges, and beyond hold.
These parts of the world that were hitherto minutely accessible because of the challenging roads that lead to the beautiful topography have been thrown open for the world to see.
The Ufuku peak, possibly the highest altitude in south east Nigeria, the Iyere, Letu, Osisioma, Ogwuma mountains, blended with the deep valleys that have threads of sneaky, cool, and clean springs are breathtaking.
For a complete package, the luxuriant deep green foliage capping the heights makes you simply applaud nature for an amazing amalgam of artistry.

To cap it up, the splendid flyover Governor Umahi built over the Iyere valleys and river has become a brightening spot on the awesome landscape.
Get ready for an escape from your bore and regular runs, and think about the Edda beautiful landform. A breath of fresh feelings awaits you.
A tall deal
It is dizzying to look down the valleys from the bridge and notice how Umahi’s man-made peak and platform dwarfed the tall trees of the valleys. Even the lofty palm and other trees that tower above the lower shrubs also looked like part of the atrophied flora due to the height of the bridge.
The height of this structure diminished the elevation of the mountain which used to be so steep that vehicles found it tasking to ascend. Now, you can drive up the mountain and down without feeling your heart in your mouth like it used to be. That will definitely also ameliorate the regular cases of deaths as vehicles often plunged into the deep valleys quite often.
This Umahi’s edifice will save lives, propel the economy and open that part of the world to tourism development. It has become an impetus or sign of what positive leadership should do to a people.

With camera panned at the trees of over 30 meters in height standing down in the valley, they looked so stunted from the bridge. The observation was a confirmation of how high that huge structure is. It is quite imposing and with a touch of beauty and allure. The bridge on its own is a piece of architectural tourism.
Beauty addition
To crown it all, Umahi deployed his engineering training to create broad concrete platforms at the sides of the bridge from the windward ends of the mountain.
The platforms are thick as mountain walls and wide. But quite exciting are the spots of green on them. The creators of this structure planted trees at spots on them. When they are grown, those concrete pavements would become relaxation spots where hundreds of people would converge and soak in the beauty of nature with the tall mountain formations all around them and the deeps beckoning for their embrace in the cool waters of the swift Iyere River.
It would not be a surprise if tourism facilities start springing up all around the edifice. The signs are already there with a beautiful duplex already set beside the bridge.

In case you belong to the acting world and business, never forget to think of the Edda marvelous landform as your next location.
