– The Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa Business, Jeff Ewing, has said that his company has achieved over 90 per cent reduction in gas flare in Nigeria in the last 10years
Jeff, who spoke when he received the 2018 Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) Leadership Award at the ongoing Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston Texas, USA, said the development represents an outstanding effort at gas commercialisation and flares out, and an example of what the industry is doing to monetise flared gas in Nigeria.
The award was given at the Oil and Gas Industry Dinner and Award event, organised by Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN); an association of oil and gas industry services providers in Nigeria; as part of activities at this year’s OTC holding from April 30 to May 3, 2018.
According to PETAN, the award was in recognition of Jeff’s leadership and professional excellence in helping to drive the development of Local Content in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry.
Speaking on the award, Jeff thanked PETAN for the recognition, adding that “the award reflects the industry’s recognition of the outstanding Chevron Way values, which represent who we are and drive the way we do business”. e further affirmed that Chevron companies in Nigeria support Nigerian Content Development not out of a need for compliance to an act, but as “part of our business values”.
