It’s a tale of joy of a proud family succession as Godswill Enyeama, son of Nigeria’s finest goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has signed a contract to play professional football for Lille of France.

Do you know his position? He is signed up as a goalkeeper like his dad was. That raises the hope that should Godswill make a good career, one day, he will make history as the first Nigerian goalkeeper to succeed his father.

This was announced by the legendary older Enyeama on his Facebook page on Thursday.

Before this, family succession has not been too common in Nigerian football unlike in some other countries.

Enyeama replaces Enyeama in the same club, same position

Apart from the Okosiemes – Ndubuisi, for the Super Eagles, and Nkeiru his sister who played for the Super Falcons and took after their footballer father, such succession like the Enyeamas is uncommon in Nigeria.

The senior Enyeama wrote: “God is the greatest. Home sweet home. Back home in a different skin #losc #prouddaddy❤️ #younggoalie #youngcoach #newadventure @losclive”, he wrote.
Enyeama was on the books of Lille for seven years, making 143 league appearances.

The young Enyeama has been promoted to Lille’s U-18 side.

He will be determined to follow in his father’s footsteps by playing for the first team.
