The Ukrainian forces shot down all 27 combat drones launched by Russia in an overnight attack on the country, the Ukrainian Air Force said Friday.
According to a social media statement, Shahed-136 and Shahed-131 drones were intercepted over seven regions in northern, central, southern and eastern Ukraine.
The air defense system was operating in the Kiev region, but there were no casualties or damage in the area, said Kiev Regional Military Administration.

This was as Russia said at least four people were killed and 24 others injured in a Russian strike on a shopping mall in the Donetsk region on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Zelensky wrote in a Telegram post that a search and rescue operation is underway at the site in the town of Kostyantynivka.
The Russian forces struck the mall during an attack on the town with barrel artillery, said regional governor Vadym Filashkin.
Police, rescuers, and medics are working at the site of the attack, Filashkin added.
